We source and supply virgin vegetable oils, tallow and used vegetable oil in biodiesel production. We are working closely with our suppliers to ensure that the feedstock comes from sustainable sources.
In 2008, Letofin Trading OÜ entered the fast-growing local bio-diesel market by both trading and blending the products. The current EU Biofuels Directive requires 2% of the energy for transport to come from renewable sources (including both bio-diesel and bio-ethanol), rising to 5.75% by the end of 2010, and 20% by 2020. In Estonia bio-diesel is cheaper for the customers than the regular diesel thanks to tax advantages.
Letofin is the main supplier and trading partner for Estonia’s only biodiesel refinery Paldiski Biodiesel.
The main products we work with are crude and once-refined rapeseed oil, rapeseed methyl ester and different grades of fatty acids methyl esters.
